Two things decide whether an EV import succeeds or stalls at port: the chemistry inside the battery and the paperwork around it. Both are easy to get wrong, and both are expensive to fix after shipment.
LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells tolerate heat far better than NMC chemistry, and deliver a service life of 2000 cycles or more in normal use. Every pack ships with a built-in BMS that balances cells, protects against overcharge and cut-off at low voltage. For hot-climate markets, choosing an LFP configuration is the difference between a five-year fleet and a battery that degrades in one summer.
On the paperwork side, customs officials increasingly ask for battery documentation at import. When UN38.3 test reports, MSDS and transport declarations are missing, containers sit in bonded warehouses while demurrage bills grow. Some markets reject the whole shipment.
EV-Riding ships every order with UN38.3, MSDS, CE and full sea-freight documentation prepared in advance. We offer configurations from budget lead-acid to LFP, so you can match price points without guessing at compliance, and every unit is quality-inspected before it leaves the factory.
If your customs broker has questions about battery class or document wording, ask us before you book freight – we will send the exact file set your destination requires.
